Our approach to AI is guided by the same principles that guide every aspect of our company: every person deserves to feel seen.

Our AI systems exist to educate, organize information, personalize learning, and support intentional skincare rituals while respecting individual autonomy and privacy.

Our Philosophy: Recognition Before Recommendation

Our AI is designed to understand before suggesting. Rather than promoting products first, our AI prioritizes:

Recommendations are made to support learning — not to maximize product sales.

What Royal Guide / Zuri Can Do

Our AI is designed to:

• Explain skincare concepts and ingredients
• Teach The Seven Royal Principles
• Suggest educational resources and rituals
• Help users understand and build skincare routines
• Answer general skincare questions
• Guide users toward appropriate resources
• Support professional education and consultation preparation (Zuri Pro)
• Personalize educational experiences based on skin goals and preferences

What Royal Guide / Zuri Cannot Do

Our AI must not and does not:

• Diagnose medical conditions or skin disorders
• Prescribe treatment or medication
• Claim medical certainty or guarantee outcomes
• Replace licensed healthcare professionals or dermatologists
• Interpret photographs medically or analyze images for diagnosis
• Create health predictions
• Provide emergency medical advice
• Exercise professional judgment on behalf of practitioners

If you present symptoms or concerns that may require medical evaluation, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

AI and Personalization

To improve educational relevance, our AI may consider information you choose to provide — such as skin goals, routine preferences, learning progress, journal entries, and skin assessments. This personalization is intended to improve the educational experience, not to manipulate purchasing behavior.

AI personalization must never become hidden surveillance. Users maintain control over what information AI remembers.

Transparency

Whenever AI contributes to educational content, recommendations, or personalized experiences, we strive to be transparent about its role. You should understand when you are interacting with AI and what AI can reasonably help you accomplish.

AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. You are responsible for evaluating AI-generated information before acting on it. Professional users remain responsible for independently evaluating AI outputs and applying their own professional judgment.

Third-Party AI Providers

• Ask Zuri and Zuri Pro are powered by Anthropic AI technology, accessed through My Royal Ritual's backend and provider infrastructure.
• Community Trust & Safety moderation uses AI services provided through My Royal Ritual's backend (Base44) to review community content for policy violations. This processing is required for safety and is separate from the optional AI Data Sharing setting.
• Voice input uses your device or browser's built-in speech recognition and may be processed by a platform speech service depending on your device.
• Academy Read Aloud narration is generated by ElevenLabs from pre-approved, static Academy article text only — never personal or user-generated content. Narration is generated by an administrator and cached; learner playback uses the stored audio. Provider credentials are kept server-side.

Your AI Data Sharing Choice

Before your first Ask Zuri or Zuri Pro interaction, we ask for your affirmative consent to share your questions and relevant context with Anthropic AI. You may decline; declining keeps every non-AI feature working. You can change your choice anytime in Settings → Privacy & AI → AI Data Sharing. Revoking consent stops future transmissions to Zuri and Zuri Pro. Re-enabling always re-presents the disclosure and requires affirmative opt-in — it is never silent.

Community safety moderation is not affected by your AI Data Sharing choice and continues to run to keep the community safe.

Privacy and Data Protection

Personal information shared with our AI is handled according to our Privacy Policy and Data Governance & Retention Policy. We do not sell personal information to advertisers. We do not authorize AI providers to use sensitive user data to train general-purpose models unless expressly disclosed and appropriately authorized.

No Photo-Based Medical Analysis

My Royal Ritual will not analyze photographs to score, diagnose, or assess skin medically. Photos are for personal progress tracking, reflection, and journey documentation only. The platform does not create facial embeddings, biometric identifiers, or facial geometry data from your photographs.

Fairness and Inclusion

Our AI is designed to support people with melanin-rich skin through educational experiences developed specifically for their needs. We recognize that no AI system is perfect. We continuously evaluate our systems to improve inclusivity, reduce unintended bias, and strengthen educational quality.

Always Seek Professional Care

Please consult a qualified healthcare professional or board-certified dermatologist for:

• Persistent or changing skin conditions
• Severe irritation or allergic reactions
• Open wounds, signs of infection, or unusual rashes
• Any medically concerning symptoms
• Emergency medical situations
